Escaping

If I had to pick out one word that generally encompasses the ideas of my topic I would pick "escaping". By comparing and contrasting Chief from One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest and Dimmesdale from The Scarlet Letter, I want to explore how, why, when, and where people escape to. The activity we did in class helped me realize that Chief escapes his past life through intense action and Dimmesdale simply tries to avoid conflict with his conscious all together. On another note, I also want to add something about Latin American people escaping to America. I just finished Latin American Studies with Mr. Garcia and I want to relate what I learned in his class to my thesis in some way.
